Question of the Week: What book/series do you think would make a better TV show than a movie?

I think the Gallagher Girls series would make a great tv show! We would get to see more spy classes, more of Cammie and the gang getting into mischief, and more of Zack and Mr. Solomon! Although, I wouldn't mind if they came out with a movie as well. ;)

 Christina's Pick

I always thought that Vampire Academy and Bloodlines would make a much better tv show than it would a movie. They could spend a season on one or two books alone. There are so many different things they could do to expand the series and make it longer for television.

 The question this week is: What is your favorite tv series that you can watch over and over again on Netflix? Well, I don't have Netflix, I'm old fashion I actually own DVDs. Nevertheless, my favorite series to rewatch is:

I just love all of the characters and the world and Serenity and the humor and the seriousness. It makes me laugh and it makes me cry way more than I should. Firefly is one of my all time favorite shows, but I didn't discover it until long after it was canceled. I still mourn its death. I hate FOX!

 The Gardener by Sarah Stewart

The story is told by a girl writing letters to her grandmother after she has to move away from the country to New York to live with her serious uncle. The story is incredibly sweet and the pictures are so gorgeous and colorful which is why it was one of my favorites as a kid.

Boom Town by Sonia Levitin

A fun story about a girl trying to make a pie in less than ideal conditions. After many tries she succeeds and accidentally begins her own business out of her mother's kitchen.

 

Miss Suzy by Miriam Young

A squirrel who lives in a tree house with firefly lamps gets kicked out by a gang of mean squirrel, so she runs to an old home and finds a dollhouse to live in. There she befriends a bunch of toy soldiers. Man, I LOVED this book when I was a kid! There was so much to capture my imagination.

Armchair Travel! Tell us about your favorite book in a setting you’d like to visit (a real place for this question).

Christina's Answer: I adore Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. For the past couple of years around spring break I find myself being pulled towards it inexplicably despite not being a fan of contemporaries. This novel really paints a picture of what it’s like to be a foreigner in France: the struggle of not speaking the language, the beauty of the landmarks, the difference in the culture. I love experiencing Paris through the pages of this book.

Sarah's Answer: Out of Sight, Out of Time by Ally Carter is one of my favorite books right now. I have read it four times in a four month period, something I NEVER do. One of the cool things about it is that the main character travels to Rome and Ireland. Two places I would very much like to see for their natural beauty, architecture and history. The character doesn’t spend much time there but the book makes it real easy to imagine the setting.
