Top Ten Books Christina Tell's Me I Must Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top 10 Books Christina Tells Me I Must Read
Christina is always finding a new book that she loves and wants me to read and I keep putting them off for some reason, but lately I’ve have read some of them: Wicked Lovely, The Scorpio Races, and Across the Universe. Now I just need to read the rest. Here are ten more on the list.

Anna and the French Kiss
This is one of those books that she has been bugging me for years to read. It’s on my August TBR list! I promise!
Fray
So, this really isn’t a format that I enjoy reading but even my dad thought it was okay and he doesn’t read fiction. It’s futuristic Buffy ‘verse so I don’t know why I’m hesitating.
The Curiosities
Quite honestly, college has ruined most short stories for me. But Christina insists that these are different and more interesting than the ones I was forced to read in class. I’ve flipped through the book and it looks awesome and well put together…. I just need to read the stories now. (Christina: yeah, they’re more supernatural based, and morbid and creepy :D )

Woman in White
I want to read this. Everyone tells me that it is awesome. I have one paperback and one audiobook of it. I need to read it. It’s just really, really long.
Armadale
I am willing to try anything by Wilkie Collins but it’s just so hard for me to start classics. It always takes me so long to get through them.

White Cat
I started this one time at the lake but I was having a hard time getting into it and didn’t get past the first couple chapters. I’ll try again sometime.

Tarnish
I like historical fiction so I should enjoy trying this… I’m just a little nervous of the Tudors. (Christina: Plus, I promise there is a bickering couple.)
The Summoning
I liked the Darkness Rising trilogy and there is a slight crossover with this series so I really want to read it—just not as much as the other books I’m reading now.
Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
I’m not a big fan of books in epistolary format but after reading some of the quotes from Goodreads I am now much more interested than I used to be.

1984
I like dystopians and this is like their king so it stands to reason that I should read this… I just haven’t yet.

  1. Basically everyone has been telling me I need to read Anna and the French Kiss, too!! 1984 was good, not amazing or anything though. It's basically one of the first dystopias though.

    1. Haha, it seems that there are a lot of us on the blogs who are behind on the Anna and the French Kiss books. I totally need to start it this month.

  2. Anna and the French Kiss is on my own list! I've known about if for so long, and lots of people have told be to read it but I never get around to it. I really want to read 1984, I really like dystopians, and 1984 is another that I've been meaning to read. Hope it's good! I've been a bit fifty/fifty whether I want to read The Summoning. I don't know what is keeping me back from giving it a shot. Maybe one day!

  5. Apparently I was behind on the Anna and the French Kiss-hype too, but it's worth checking out since the book is really cute :). I had to read 1984 for my literature class. It's really dark and not easy to get through but I consider it one of the greatest classics!
